As a Student Ambassador, you’ll play a key role in supporting and promoting the LTN Programme while developing your skills, interests, and leadership abilities.

LTN Student Ambassador 2025 Application Guidelines
We’re looking for passionate students to join the LTN Ambassadors team!
Please read through the details below before applying.
Introduction
Welcome to the Light the Nights (LTN) Student Ambassador Programme 2025! This exciting programme, run by SW1IC and Pimlico Academy, invites you to help host Ramadan Prayers(Taraweeh) and support your community. You’ll get the chance to develop leadership skills while making a positive impact.
Light The Nights is a month-long SW1IC initiative, launched in 2024 and designed to bring people together and promote social good during Ramadan and beyond. In 2025, the programme will also involve students from Pimlico Academy. The Student Ambassador Programme is the heart of this expansion, giving you the opportunity to lead, serve, and create lasting change. This year as an Ambassador, you’ll help make this special event meaningful to everyone involved.
Focus Areas
Diversity and Interfaith Dialogue
What you’ll do: Promote understanding of different cultures, educate peers about Ramadan, and host information sessions.
Technology and Innovation
What you’ll do: Lead digital content and showcase the programme’s activities, in any digital creative medium
Sustainable Practices
What you’ll do: Encourage eco-friendly habits, lead SW1IC's sustainability campaigns
Charitable and Community Engagement
What you’ll do: Organise acts of kindness, get the community involved, and act as a link between the school and wider community.
Key Dates & Timeline
Here are the key dates for the programme, running from February to April 2025:
January 2025: Applications open; Student Ambassadors selected, interviews.
February 2025: Induction, workshops for Ambassadors; Ramadan Awareness Week; Planning activities
March 2025: LTN Programme during Ramadan
April 2025: Programme wrap-up, graduation, and reflection event
Selection Process
We want students who are excited to show leadership, enthusiasm for community service, and a desire to promote understanding.
Eligibility Criteria
Open to all students in Years 7-13 at Pimlico Academy.
6-9 students will be selected, with a mix from different year groups.
We welcome students from all backgrounds, and especially encourage students from Muslim faith backgrounds to promote inclusivity and intercultural dialogue.
Commitment:
You’ll need to attend at least 12 evenings (3 per week) during Ramadan to graduate from the programme.
Parental/Guardian attendance at the first part of the induction is essential, as it ensures a clear understanding of the programme’s objectives and expectations. However, where attendance is not possible, discretion will be exercised to make suitable arrangements. While every effort will be made to accommodate individual circumstances, the importance of attendance remains emphasised.
To confirm your place, all parties will be required to co-sign a commitment and agreement.

Review and Shortlisting (28th - 29th January 2025)
Teacher Nominations
Teachers will nominate students who have applied and who they think would be most suitable for the programme.
A panel from SW1IC, Pimlico Academy and a Community Lead will review your application. If shortlisted, you'll be invited for an interview from 30th January.
Interviews and Notifications
We’ll notify you of the outcome after your interview.
Induction and Training
Once selected, you’ll take part in training to prepare for your role as an Ambassador.
Induction (5th February 2025)
This session will introduce the programme, explain what’s expected, and discuss parental involvement. You’ll also get a welcome pack and sign a commitment agreement with your parent/guardian.
Pre-Ramadan Workshops (Feb)
These will be announced soon.
Ramadan Awareness Week (24th - 28th February 2025)
You’ll lead activities to educate your peers about the importance of Ramadan.
During Ramadan (28th February - 30th March)
As an Ambassador, you’ll take part in various activities:
LTN Taraweeh Prayers (28th February - 30th March)
You’ll help engage the community and implement your pre-planned projects.
Community Iftar event (13th March 2025)
You’ll assist with organising and running this important community event.
Weekly Check-ins
You’ll meet regularly with mentors to track your progress and adjust your plans.
Graduation (April 2025)
At the end of the programme, you’ll be celebrated for your efforts:
Graduation Ceremony
You’ll present your projects, share your experiences, and celebrate the programme’s success.
Certificates of Achievement
You’ll receive a certificate recognising your hard work.
